Uniform

At Fixby, we believe that having a school uniform plays a key role in:

  • promoting the ethos of a school
  • providing a sense of belonging and identity
  • setting an appropriate tone for education

Our school uniform policy has been created in line with Government Non-Statutory Guidance on School Uniforms (November 2019) and Cost of School Uniforms (November 2019)

Pupils of Fixby J&I School are asked to wear the following uniform:

  • Dark grey, or black trousers, skirt or pinafore.
  • Dark grey or black socks or tights.
  • A white shirt or polo shirt with or without the school logo.
  • Royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan with or without the school logo.
  • Dark grey or black shorts or a blue gingham school dress can be worn during summer months.
  • Royal blue fleece is also optional.
  • Plain black shoes or trainers - no open-toed sandals are permitted - if your child is unable to tie their own shoelaces unaided, please provide footwear without laces where possible, to avoid trips or falls.

Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on the days PE is timetabled for their class:

  • Plain black or navy shorts or joggers.
  • Plain black, navy or royal blue sweatshirt or hoodie - pupils in Y6 can wear Leavers' Hoodies.
  • House coloured PE t-shirt with or without the school logo.
  • Royal blue fleece is optional.
  • Plain black or dark-coloured pumps or trainers - if your child is unable to tie their own shoelaces unaided, please provide footwear without laces where possible, to avoid trips or falls.
