 What do school Governors do?

Governors work as a team called the Governing Body.  In our school there are 14 Governors who volunteer their time, work together with the Headteacher and staff to ensure that all the children of Fixby Junior and Infant School get a good education.  The Governors help plan the school's future, help set our aims and policies to ensure that we achieve better.  It is their job to identify problems and tackle them in advance.

Our Governing Body is made up of parents, staff, local community and local authority members.  Governors are appointed for 4 years, but can be re-appointed.
